IEMT

IEMT stands for Integral Eye Movement Therapy. In Dutch: Integral Eye Movement Therapy. This form of therapy focuses on relieving emotional and psychological symptoms through eye movements. It is often used to address emotional and psychological complaints, such as traumatic memories, anxiety disorders, phobias, negative beliefs and limiting emotions.

During therapy, you follow the therapist’s hand movements with your eyes. Meanwhile, you focus your attention on certain internal experiences. This allows you to reduce negative emotions and beliefs and develop new, positive resources. The effects of IEMT depend on your specific problems.

Many people report positive results after IEMT, such as reduction of anxiety, relief from traumatic memories, changes in negative beliefs and an overall improvement in their well-being. Some people also experience increased resilience and better coping mechanisms after therapy.
